                Dear Mary,
I received your combined letter and Xmas card. I was waiting patiently for a long newsy letter about your journey and all the Edinburgh news etc. I think you should be able to write a very long & interesting letter Mary & I hope you will take a red face & do so soon. By the way I should have taken a red face myself in not turning up at Edin. But I want you to give my aplogies to everybody that was there at your earliest opportunity. I wrote cousin Nellie when I got back. I sent a Xmas card to yourself and Di to the R M but it is likely you would be away before it arrived. We are up the line ever since I came back & nothing but frost & snow & awful cold. I am clean out of sorts & don’t care what happens. Do write soon with every little item of news
Love from Doddo
